Born of Necessity
Securityplus Federal Credit Union was born out of the dire need for financial safety during the time of the Great Depression. It was in 1938 when a group of forward-thinking neighbors decided to pool their resources together. Their shared savings provided access to affordable credit at a time when people had nowhere else to turn. This act of collective trust and cooperation allowed our initial members to survive tough times, buy homes, educate their children, and establish small businesses that fueled economic growth. It was, quite literally, the embodiment of turning $1 into $1 million.
We Stayed True to Our Roots
For over 80 years, Securityplus has stayed true to its founding purpose - people helping people. As we grew, we never lost sight of our community-focused mission. While other institutions prioritized profits, we prized the well-being of our members. Through recessions and recoveries, we stood as a trusted partner, offering guidance and customized solutions to help members prosper. Through thick and thin, our Credit Union grew, never straying from our community-focused ethos. In times of economic booms or recessions, we stood strong as a reliable ally.
